Further information
Located within the Touques Wastewater Treatment Plant itself to provide a more immersive experience, the tour explores the world of water in all its aspects—its nature, management, and use—in France and around the world, as well as the initiatives undertaken to protect it within the Coeur Côte Fleurie Community of Communes:
- Wastewater treatment,
- Drinking water production,
- Rainwater management,
- Preservation of bathing water quality along the coast
The tour is suitable for visitors of all ages and levels of curiosity! Interactive activities, hands-on workshops, and large wooden sensory panels featuring raised elements invite visitors to touch, manipulate, and explore: lifting a hatch, rotating a component, moving a magnetic holder, or pressing a light-up button reveals hidden information.
A visitor’s guide and the presence of a guide from the Centre Permanent d’Initiatives pour l’Environnement Vallée de l’Orne, an association specializing in environmental and sustainable development education and the promotion of local areas and heritage, accompany and enrich the experience, which addresses the challenges of the ecological transition.
Duration: 1 hr 30 mins.
